TERRY GIVEN ENGLAND ARMBAND

John Terry has been renamed England captain on a permanent basis.
National team manager Fabio Capello informed the media of his decision on Saturday evening and Terry will resume the role next Saturday for a European Championship qualifier against Wales in Cardiff, followed by a friendly against Ghana at Wembley.
'I have decided that John Terry, after one year of punishment, will again be the permanent captain. I think one year's punishment is enough,' Capello said. 'He was my first choice when I [initially] decided on the permanent captain.
'John, when he played without the armband, was every time a leader on the pitch, a leader in the dressing room. He was really good every time.
'Always he is the same. He is a player that is himself a leader. This is really important. He is the biggest personality in the dressing room.'
Terry was originally made England skipper by Steve McCLaren in August 2006, a decision confirmed by Capello in 2008.
