English actress, Kate Winslet, who is most famous for her lead role in
Titanic, and Oscar award winner for her role in The Reader, recently visited
Egypt for several days in April to tour the country with her family. There, she
stayed at The Winter Palace Hotel, built in 1886 just south of the Luxor Temple
and banks on the Nile River. While in Luxor, she visited historic sites such as
the Valley of the Kings, and other temples in the West Bank. Then she cruised
the Nile to Aswan aboard the Dahabiya, Lazuli, a traditional Egyptian sailboat
used since the ancient times, to see sites there. Nevertheless, Kate made sure
to stop by Cairo and see its historic landmarks that have stretched far across
time.
