Robbie Fowler spoke to the Club's Official website just after he put pen to paper and he told of how it all came about.
"I'm delighted to be here and have all of the contract sorted, so yeah it's very pleasing. As you know I had a chance meeting with Dave Jones in a resturant in America. We spoke and he asked if I would be interested. I came home and there was a call waiting.
"It's probably clich?d if you like but obviously the manager and the chairman spoke to me and told me about the plans for the future of the Club and I was very impressed. Things developed from there and I've come down here and signed.
"I'm really looking forward to the challenge and now I can't wait. I've not done pre-season but now I can get started and hopefully it will be sooner rather than later I will be pulling the shirt on.
"I've had a good record in the past but I'm here to look forward and obviously I'm confident of my ability and hopefullt I'll show the Cardiff City supporters what I'm all about. I've played with Trevor Sinclair at Man City and Stephen McPhail at Leeds. He was a fantastic player at Leeds and he's still a fantastic player so I'm looking forward to getting on the training pitch with them.
"When I played here before in that FA Cup game I don't remember the crowd that much but I remember the chairman at the time obviously inciting them so it was a bit unusual to say the least to what I was used to. I know from specking to certain people how passionate the supporters are and I'm looking forward to playing infront of them.
"You know that if you come down to Cardiff on the opposing team then you know how much stick you are going to get. If that helps the home team then great and thankfully I'll be on the home team now. I've got some great memories of playing in Cardiff with Liverpool. It's a great city to play in. Like I said about the fans, they are very passionate and like I said I'm looking forward to getting on the pitch now."
