从2014-2015学年起，AP物理B分为两门独立的考试科目，AP物理1和AP物理2。
从2015年5月考试起，AP物理共有4门独立的考试科目：AP物理1、AP物理2、AP物理C-力学和AP物理C-电磁学。
AP物理1 = 大学基础物理（基于代数）第一学期课程
AP物理2 = 大学基础物理（基于代数）第二学期课程
AP物理C-力学 = 大学物理力学（基于微积分）
AP物理C-电磁学 = 大学物理电磁学（基于微积分）

In general, the purpose of allowingcalculators and equation sheets to be used in both section of the exam is toplace greater emphasis on the understanding and application of fundamentalphysical principles and concepts. For solving problems and writing essays, asophisticated scientific or graphing calculator, or the availability of storedequations, is no substitute for a thorough grasp of the physics involved.
