What were your old drinking habits like, and what did you do to get off it?
a fifth of vodka a day typically. More when I was really spun out. I couldn't do it anymore, the pain, embarrassment and occasional seizures was piling up in a way that was angling to destroy me entirely. I tried for a long while to just quit on my own, but when that consistently failed I started hitting AA meetings and getting some real world help from people who knew what they were talking about when it came to understanding deep physical and psychological addiction.
