一、Ceph起源
Ceph项目起源于Sage Weil 2003年在加州大学圣克鱼兹分校攻读博士期间的研究课题《Lustre环境中的可扩展问题》
2006年，Ceph以LGPLv2协议开源
2011年，Inktank公司成立并资助上游开发，并通过其Inktank Ceph Enterprise产品为Ceph提供商业支持
2014年，Redhat收购Inktank，Inktank Ceph Enterprise也变为红帽Ceph存储
