Hi, I had this problem too since the update to High Sierra.
This worked for me:
Turn off all time machine options (obviously). Then not so obviously, right click the disk icon above Select Disk, then Stop using xxx for this backup. Confirm and hopefully you'll not have a disk or location for Time Machine to backup to.
