Nansei (南西) means "Southwest", and can refer to some or all of the areas, cultures or histories within the Southwestern areas. This contrasts how its inspiration Touhou (東方) takes place in the East/Eastern areas.Nansei also follows Touhou's naming scheme for its titles with the format having the kanji for Nansei and 3 other kanji that are closely related to the album's story (e.g. 南西ＯＯＯ).There are some exceptions to this however such as bonus tracks following a separate naming scheme altogether.Also unlike Touhou, spell cards in Nansei are called "spell presentations".
